Load Architecture and MEP 2010 Ribbon
November 6, 2009 · Print This Article
After typing “fsl” (without quotes) into the command line of AutoCAD Architecture 2010 or AutoCAD MEP 2010, there is one additional step needed to load our ribbon menu to the current workspace.

We use FSL in a lab environment, each user logging in with their own active directory user account. Would each user need to do this, or can one admin do this logged in as admin to set these settings for everyone?
Each user has control over their own local ACAD menu file – where the ribbon menus are set. The HKCU registry location for this is shown below. In a lab environment it might be worth the effort to figure out how to use the EnterpriseMenuFile value – also shown below.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R18.0\ACAD-8001:409\Profiles\<>\General Configuration]"EnterpriseMenuFile"="."
"MenuFile"="C:\\Documents and Settings\\USERNAME\\Application Data\\Autodesk\\AutoCAD 2010\\R18.0\\enu\\support\\acad"
"TempDirectory"="C:\\Documents and Settings\\USERNAME\\Local Settings\\Temp\\"
If the EnterpriseMenuFile value doesn’t pan out, we expect that each user will have to at least type “FSL” into the command line and follow the additional steps mentioned in this post, unfortunately.
My software was working perfectly fine, now suddenly it is not. I have gone in and unloaded and reloaded it per instructions and still nothing. The pull down is loaded on my directory on AutoCAD 2010 but nothing happens when i make a selection. Not even a error message. What happened?
I had a problem getting the fsl to load with AutoCAD 2011. I had a perfectly working version of the fsl in my AutoCAD 2010, but as a student I was forced to upgrade to 2011 mid-semester (thanks autodesk!). When I typed “fsl” in the command line, it just replied unknown command.
If you run into this problem you may want to try to load the fsl the way this post mentions before doing anything else. If that doesn’t work keep reading…
When I installed the fsl it only gave me the option to “repair” the installation, and I believe that the install stayed attached to AutoCAD2010, so I uninstalled AutoCAD 2010 (this may not have been necessary), but this didn’t correct the problem. I then uninstalled the fsl using the fsl install application (I check the uninstall box), but this didn’t work either. I then uninstalled the fsl using the windows vista control panel which did uninstall the fsl. Yay! back to having nothing installed!! Except that this was not what I was trying to do… again thanks Autodesk!!
So… I re-installed the fsl, it opened the menu that selects AutoCAD 2011 as the application to attach to… (this happened automatically since there was no longer another version loaded.) Then I tried to load the menu using “fsl” in the command line. This time It recognized the command but still failed to actually load. BUT following the instructions above (http://fsl.steelcase.com/help/load-architecture-and-mep-2010-ribbon/) got around the problem…
Unfortunately, when I uninstalled the fsl I lost all of the libraries I had downloaded. And now I’m re-downloading them too… It’s OK it’s not like I have any projects due
For Windows 7, the path is c:\programdata\SteelcaseFSL\acad\R18_0\ -> Select stlcfsl.cuix
